My entry for the Grand Space Opera Challenge: Film/VFX Character. I fell in love with the aesthetic of "beautifying" the creature, so, I tried to accentuate the delicate curvature through the silhouette. This idea came from the exaggerated alien designs of the Mass Effect IP - because I love the accentuation of their initial character concepts. Therefore, I posed the character in a rather neutral gesture pose (like a deer). The character was developed using ZSpheres and making an adaptive skin. Afterwards, the base forms were added by building up primary, secondary and tertiary forms. The armor plating was added to accentuate the shadow contours. Each plating was UV'd emcompassing 10 UDIMS total.

The seat started out as a blockout in Maya, then dynameshed to add more details and then retopologized for a lower polycount. Any additional elements such as cloths were created using cloth dynamic simulation. Finally, the character was then textured in Substance Painter and rendered in Arnold.
